A place where children can explore, discover and feel happy
The story of Brooklyn Day Nursery
Established
Our nursery school opened in 1958 and our expert staff have worked here for many, many years.
Family-run
Family-run nursery school where our ethos is for children to ‘find out’ through play all about themselves.
Homely
Our day nursery provides a warm, comfortable, caring, home-from-home environment for children.
Ofsted Outstanding
Brooklyn Day Nursery is proud to be a twice Outstanding provider of day care, nursery and childcare services.

Childcare at its best
Word-of-mouth has always been our best marketing strategy and we are immensely proud that many of the children who were with us at Brooklyn Day Nursery in times past, now send their own children to learn with us.
Happy and Content
A quick look at the happy faces of our children being cared for by well-qualified staff who’ve been part of Brooklyn Day Nursery’s fabric for many years will show that some things never change: children are still the happiest learning and having fun in a supportive, stimulating environment.
Growth and development
Throughout all the changes in childcare practice and regulation over the years, we’ve held true to our philosophy of exceptionally caring childcare in a fun and comforting environment.
Let your child thrive
Brooklyn Day Nursery in Nottingham was opened by my father and his first wife in 1958.
Very soon the school established itself as an integral part of Sutton-in-Ashfield and neighbouring communities.
Such was its success that a move was soon needed and the nursery moved it its present location; a fabulous 1880-built stone house, surrounded by fields and woodland in Annesley.
Brooklyn Day Nursery has lowered its intake in recent years to 50 children as more nursery schools open and we now include the Early Years Foundation Stage in our daily routine.
Brooklyn is currently registered with Ofsted for 80 places.
